Jacksonville Zoo & Gardens is the home of an award-winning exhibit "Range of the Jaguar." This exhibit shows the species, which live in the neotropical rain forests. Other environments include the African Savannah, Great Apes, and the Plains of Africa. Habitats are large and open, and the animals roam through the recreated plains and jungles. The city zoo is a nice place to see animals however it is clear that the zoo grounds need upgrades. With Fl heat, I would go in the weekday mornings.

I don't even know where to begin. Other than to say it was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING ! Everything there. You guys have done such a wonderful job ! From the design of the Zoo and all of its habitats to the amazing care that you take in each and everyone of your animals. They all look so happy and healthy. And not to mention the amazing variety of animals in your care. And all of your staff were so helpful and kind. I can't even begin to thank you all for your hard work and dedication to these amazing animals and to all of us. Keep up the fantastic work and we wish you all only best. And thank you again for one of the best Zoo days we have had you guys are AMAZING !

The Jacksonville Zoo is a fantastic zoo. It’s not too big where you need more than one day to see everything, and it has things for all ages. The kid area is great because it has a huge playground area, a splash pad and petting zoo. My son loves the goats! The tiger show is great, the giraffes get pretty close to the side where you can feed them and the train is a great way to relax for a short time and see the zoo from a different angle. They offer private events like birthday parties and weddings, as well as camps for the little ones. Their renovated primate area is nice too. It’s very aesthetically pleasing and easy to get around.
