    Best place in NC to watch a sunset and see the valley below. Be sure to pack a picnic lunch and a blanket to sit on. Get there early to get the best spot.

    I am so glad we made the drive to this park from Blowing Rock. West Jefferson had lots of great shops and restaurants in a picturesque downtown and we capped off the day with some hiking here. The views were wonderful and the hikes were perfect for a family but not too easy. There are several trails you can choose from as you climb the mountain and hit each overlook point.

    Beautiful views and different level of difficulty hiking trails. The picnic area up on the top is quite nice with several tables and they have a covered area with a fireplace. We enjoyed our time here.
