  • We had a cabin at LRR and arrived to find thoughtful gifts left for us: flashlights (for walking back and forth from the lodge at night) water bottles, a cookie jar full of fresh cookies! The well wat...  more »
  • I have taken my children to other guest ranches in the past, but LRR is our favorite. We meet old friends from back East here whenever we can. This year I brought all three of our children, ages 9, 11...  more »

  • We have had the best time during our visits to Laramie River Dude Ranch! It all starts with the owners and their staff, who are highly-skilled and very accommodating to make sure their guests have a wonderful time. Next is the horseback riding - wide variety and for all skill levels. You can be an expert or a novice, either way you will have an experience that enriches your soul! Then there is the food - great hearty meals every day, and even cookies in your room. The activities are awesome, from their singing cowboy Ben Alexander to nature walks to learning how to dance. Finally the accommodations - very comfortable, allowing you to hang out and relive the day's events with friends before turning in for a restful sleep. Five star experience!
  • We had an absolutely amazing time during our stay at LRR. The staff was AMAZING - super-friendly, and willing to go out of their way to make the trip special. The food was incredible - both for adults and kids! The horseback riding was fantastic. The rides were so beautiful and scenic and the wranglers were knowledgeable and super-friendly! Everything about the place was simply wonderful. If I could give them 6 stars, I would!
  • Laramie River Dude Ranch is heaven on earth. My sisters and I had the most magical getaway there! We unplugged and just enjoyed the wild beauty of the scenery, the generous hospitality of the Burleighs and their thoughtful, friendly crew, and of course the horseback riding! Every need we might have had was anticipated. The food was outstanding and any dietary restrictions were not only accommodated, but I had people with the "regular" menu looking enviously at my "alternate" meal! Every night there was something fun- acoustic guitar, square dancing, a bonfire- we loved every minute.
  • I am lucky enough to have just spent 4 wonderful days here (it was only the 1st week open and staff made up a great experience). I worked 2 summers at the ranch in the past and every year yearn to return. This year was a priority to visit as a guest. I had such a great time. Every ride was like a dream. The first day went with a small group to drive the cattle back in from the pasture before doing some team penning. Guess I'm a little rusty we didn't get to many cattle in the pen! I really got to know my horse that day before heading out the following day on our all day lunch ride. What a great day, the scenery and lunch spread was incredible. Every meal was well planned and delicious. Made new friends. Saw some old friends. The worst part, is the day you have to leave. Would give this ranch 10 star if available.
  • After 20 summers of picking and singing every week at Laramie River Ranch I can say with certainty that there are many very good reasons that most of the Laramie River Ranch guests, just like this old cowboy singer/picker, keep returning year after year. The location in the beautiful Laramie River Valley with amazing views in all directions, the warm hospitality of the owners and staff, the comfort and safety, the abundance of wildlife, the babbling mountain river of snow-melt from the nearby high mountain wilderness area, and the friendships that emerge and then grow year after year as we all return to have another sip of this amazing western paradise make this job a true labor of love. I have watched kids come here as young ones for their first trail riding experience, then return year after year as they mature into amazing, extremely competent and successful adults, more capable and caring than most because they have a little bit of cowboy or cowgirl, along with an understanding, plus a love and appreciation of nature in their hearts as a result of spending time at the ranch and riding the mountain trails in this beautiful Valley..
