Fenton Lake State Park is a state park of New Mexico, USA, located 33 miles (53 km) north of San Ysidro, in the Jemez Mountains. The 37-acre (15 ha) lake is a popular fishing destination.

It was featured as a filming location (showing the splash-landing of an alien spacecraft) in the 1976 movie The Man Who Fell to Earth.

  • I know the park rangers are spread thin, but the check-in system is pretty disorganized. If you aren't familiar with the park and campground, it could be easy to take a wrong turn if you're trying...  more »
  • Fenton Lake is a beautiful spot, great for a day out and picnic. We did not catch any fish but had a wonderful day!  more »

  • We had a great time camping here! Thing fancy, but they do a lot to keep the bathrooms clean. The camping spots are very spread out. We will return as often as we can!
