  • Nice campgrounds and day use site nestled in the Valles Caldera My only gripe was the approach road to the day use site. It needs maintenance. Hopefully fixed before next summer.
  • Fenton Lake State Park was a location for the 1976 sci-fi flick The Man Who Fell to Earth, starring David Bowie. The rangers tell me people still show up on a regular basis looking for the commemorative plaque, which was stolen a few years ago. Improved campsites: $10/night
