Perched on the side of the South East facing slopes of Jerome, Az, Caduceus Cellars & Merkin Vineyards is making high elevation wines out of predominantly Italian and Spanish varietals. Owner and Winemaker, Maynard James Keenan, along with his wife, Jennifer, are producing roughly 4500 cases a year in their tiny underground cement facility known as The Bunker. Open topped 1/2 ton bin maceration, modified temp controlled carbonic maceration, and/or submerged cap fermentation for the Reds, and whole cluster pressed stainless steel cold fermentation for the Whites and Rose's. The epitome of a boutique owner owned and operated winery. To plan Jerome vacation without wasting time, ask Inspirock to design an itinerary.
Wondering where and how to buy our wines?
Direct Internet Sales:
This means selling directly to you, the consumer. You buy from us, we ship to you, provided you are in a state that allows us to do so. Of course you must be 21 or over. Duh.
Currently winos living in the following states can sign up for the Velvet Sippers Club and/or purchase wines off of our website, www.CADUCEUS.org.
Arizona, California, Colorado, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Dakota, Ohio, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, Washington, Wisconsin and Wyoming.
Soon to be added to this list are New York, New Jersey, and in January, Massachusetts. Of course we generally do not ship during the hottest times of the year since all packages must go through Phoenix on their way to you. We do start taking pre-orders in August/early September and usually are able to begin shipping at the end of September/beginning of October, weather permitting.
National Distribution:
This means we have established a relationship with a wine distributor/wholesaler in your state, and they in turn sell our wines to a local retailer. We of course prefer that they, the distributors, sell to a small, independently owned and operated bottle shop and or restaurant as opposed to chain stores or restaurants. Currently we have relationships with the following distributors/wholesalers in the following states:
Arizona- Quench Fine Wines & Spirits
California- Garber & Co in Southern Ca, Burke Wine Brokerage in the Northern CA & S.F. area.
Colorado- Classic Wines
Connecticut- Martin Scott Wines
District of Columbia (Virginia, Maryland, D.C.) Siema Wines
Georgia- Prime Wine and Spirits
Illinois- Maverick Wine Company
Michigan- Veritas
Nevada- Vin Savage
New Mexico- Fiasco Fine Wines, Spirits & Beer
New York- Martin Scott Wines
New Jersey- Martin Scott Wines
North Carolina- Siema Wines
Texas- Pioneer Wine Company
Our website has a Store Locator feature under CONTACT that we try our best to keep updated, but of course we're a small company and sometimes we're not always on top of things.
Also, we are in the process of seeking distribution in a few more states, including Ohio, Tennessee, Kentucky, and Florida. If you have a favorite small independent bottle shop or restaurant that focuses on hand crafted, artisan, small production wines from a family owned and operated winery, then urge them to contact the distributor listed above. If you're in a state not listed above, figure out who your local hands-on wine distributor is, and urge them to look into our wines, Caduceus Cellars & Merkin Vineyards (To clear up any confusion, we are no longer associated with Arizona Stronghold.)
International Distribution:
Currently our level of production doesn't support International Distribution except in a few specific territories/states in a couple select countries.
Alberta, Canada- Crimson Imports
And
NSW, Australia- MI Wines in Sydney
We hope that helps with any questions you may have. We are extremely grateful for your interest in our efforts here in Arizona. It's been a long and difficult journey to get where we are now. And the journey isn't over. So again, we thank you for your overwhelming support.
