Enjoy outdoor fun in the green expanse of Liberty State Park. From its Upper North Bay location, you can see Ellis Island, the Statue of Liberty, and the Manhattan skyline as you picnic, fish, or kayak. You can also walk, bike, or skate on the miles of paths. Take the Liberty Walk, which loops around the waterfront to the Statue of Liberty lookout point. Pay your respects at the Holocaust and 9/11 memorials. Don't miss the Liberty Science Center's interactive exhibits and the nation's largest IMAX dome theatre. The park is easy to reach from the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail, which stops just west of the facility. A beautiful prelude to something so significant to our cherished country AMERICA. The Empty Sky Memorial was a surprise, so beautiful. I loved the history of the train station.

Great little park just outside the city. If you are into picnics this is a great place. Has great views. And some wildlife. ("wildlife" - very human friendly) It's recommended not to feed birds as they keep the insect population low. If you are luck the ice-cream truck will stop by.

This was an excellent FREE short excursion between college baseball games. Walked the beautiful promenade along the waterfront with world-class views of the Statute of Liberty, Ellis Island, and Manhattan skyline. Very well kept park with what looks like plenty of great trails and open areas to do just about anything (Adult flag football game going on even). Bring a camera as the views are amazing. It was windy and cold that AM but it was also that time of year.
