  • Amazing mansion with an amazing history. Our docent, a petite lady, made the Packer Family come alive ! Truly the highlight of our visit to Jim Thorpe.

  • I loved my visit to this building and the town in general. Beautiful architecture and views throughout the town, and a few interesting points within a small walking distance. I would have loved to have done a few of the many available hikes but I ran out of time- next visit hopefully!
  • A must see for history or architecture buffs! The tour runs every 30 minutes—we waited about 25 minutes only because we just missed the prior tour. Our “group” had about 12 people and the tour guide referred to us as a large group. Tour guide, Alex, was very knowledgeable and had lots of interesting facts about both the home and the Packer family. He answered many questions from the group. The house just can’t be described with words. No pictures permitted inside. The woodworking, wall coverings, drapes, kitchen, bathrooms—all amazing for that time period and remarkable that they are still untouched. 18 fireplaces!!!!! Highly recommend. Most tip the tour guide and the end of the tour. Tickets: Adult $12, Senior 55+ $10 I would not take children as you are asked to it touch the walls or items in the home (completely understandable) which would be difficult for children. 3rd floor is closed due to water damage from roof.
