  • Fantastic day to be at the Arc! Excellent service and great wine. The view is too die for and if you stay, you can ride your 4-wheelers on the huge ranch (for $25 each I think) I live minutes away and I want to go stay a night or two and take our 4-wheeler!
  • I’m definitely not a wine guy, but this is still an awesome place to visit. The views of the Texas hill country are amazing! The place is perched on top of a hill, so even the terrace on the ground floor has amazing views. After you order your wine, head on up to the fourth-floor terrace for even more astounding views of this beautiful ranch. As someone else pointed out, it’s a wine bar; they do not make their own wine here. But don’t let that stop you from paying them a visit. I counted 29 varieties of wine on their list. Choices from Argentina, Spain, California, Sicily, France, South Africa, Oregon, and of course, good ol’ Texas wine (and many more states and countries that I haven’t listed). You can order a glass of wine, a full bottle of wine, or do what I did. You can go for the “Wine Tasting” for $14.95. You get your choice of five different wines (one-ounce pours). I’m new to the wine scene, so I was expecting to pick all five choices up front and have them served like a beer flight. Evidently, that’s not the case with wine tastings. You make your first choice and the one-ounce pour is served in a regular sized wine glass. Then, you return to the bar for each choice after that. The only thing I didn’t dig, is that they didn’t rinse the glass when you returned for your next choice. So, if you had a red wine, and then returned for a white wine, a little of it was mixed in with the other. Again, I don’t profess to be a wine dude, but this doesn’t seem right to me, if you are trying to get the true flavor of each wine. I didn’t stay here overnight; I just did a day trip. But they have several suites you can stay in, and five or six houses on the sprawling ranch that you can vacation in. I spoke to one of the guests who was staying in one of the suites, and he said it was “absolutely awesome”!
