Located at the historic intersection of Route 66 and Lincoln Highway, the Joliet Area Historical Museum occupies the space formerly known as the Ottawa Street Methodist Church at the intersection of Cass and Ottawa Streets in downtown Joliet. I had a great time at the Joliet Area Historical Museum. Saving Power Church hosted a function there. Appetizers and drinks were served on the roof top, and with the summer breeze and sun setting it was heavenly. Later, dinner was served in the lower level and it was beautifully decorated. The staff was professional and very helpful while being present, but not intrusive. I highly recommend having your next company, church or family get together here.
Stopped here for a I&M National Heritage Area stamp. Really nice museum. The girl at the desk was really friendly, and knowledgeable. The museum was much more than I expected. I had a really nice time visiting the Joliet Area Historical Museum and learned a lot about the area.
