Create an itinerary including Turtle Bay Beach
Protected from big waves, Turtle Bay Beach is a lesser-known spot for snorkeling. The calmness of the water allows for great visibility of the coral reefs and tropical fish below the water's surface. The public beach also offers a good chance of spotting the endangered Hawaiian green sea turtle, a highlight for many visiting the island. The resort on the beach has been used as a setting for many TV shows and films, like "Hawaii 5-0," "Full House," and "Forgetting Sarah Marshall." If you work up an appetite swimming, snorkeling, and sunbathing, there is a restaurant on the beach. • Great little beach with clear water and lots of fish. Easy spot to walk in and snorkel. Free plentiful parking was delightful after all the chaos of north shore beaches.

  • Great location on the north shore. Did not see any turtles but did see a monk seal enjoying an afternoon snooze. Lots of rock between the hotel on the west and a beautiful sandy beach on the east. Parking can be a real challenge but just be patient and spots in the public parking lot will open up. It is quiet a walk to get to the sandy beach on the east. There are good restrooms as to enter the beach area on the public beach access walkway. There was a high surf advisory - strong steady wind and surf running 16 - 20 feet. Fun spot. Highly recommended.
  • This is an okay beach on the North Shore. I suppose if you’re not really accustom to visiting beaches, this is nice but there are plenty of other locations on island that are better. Still, here is not bad. Good place to swim and snorkel, especially if you have young ones. There’s a really nice trail to walk along the waterfront. There are shoreline access parking spots at Turtle Bay Resort for those not staying at the hotel but they do fill quickly, so get there early.
