Kanaloa Octopus Farm, Kailua-Kona

This place is amazing! You get an hour to interact with the octopi and you get to feed them! You also get to learn about the research they are doing with these adorable and intelligent creatures. Tugboat by the way, is the cutest octopus ever and so friendly but beware she might splash you! Carmelle and Dani are so friendly and incredibly knowledgeable! They happily answered every question thrown at them and were quick to swoop in and help when needed. They very clearly love what they do and they made the experience that much more enjoyable. This whole encounter was worth every penny and I highly recommend taking the time to book a tour with Kanaloa Octopus Farm!

The Kanaloa Octopus farm tour was super fun! First off, the name is super misleading. They do not farm octopuses for sale or anything like that. This is a research facility that is doing some fascinating research on the Day octopus. The tour gives you the opportunity to get up close and personal with some tentacled friends, with even the possibility of feeding them. You also get to learn all about the octopus and the cool research they are doing there. The research is conservation driven, which is a huge plus! Definitely a unique experience!
