One of the few white-sand beaches on the island, Magic Sands is the local name for Laʻaloa Beach County Park. The official name means "very sacred" in the local dialect. The ruins of an ancient Hawaiian temple are just south of the beach. However, it isn't spirits that give the beach its nickname; it's the disappearing sand that is sometimes washed away in storms to reveal black volcanic rock. Strong waves just off shore make the beach a popular spot for experienced surfers. Find out how to plan Kailua-Kona trip without stress by asking Inspirock to help create an itinerary.

I really enjoyed a bridesmaids luncheon at MAGIC CAFE. I had the shitake mushroom pasta which was delicious. It was fun to sit ocean side where you can see and hear the waves crashing on shore.

I love magic, and enjoyed watching the beach appear and disappear, but I enjoyed it more from the grill next door (highly recommended) than the beach itself. There are some very strong waves, the mechanism that causes the beach to be unique, but most of the time it isn't too bad. Not too far from activities. Overall a pretty good beach with a unique twist.

Magic Sands beach Park is an amazing place. Many people visit it everyday from anywhere in the world. We cannot forget please, that many locals work hard to keep that place special, from the grounds keeper to the life guards, they are all watching over your enjoyment. Please be respectful to others, the ocean, and all the marine life that lives in it, and it will be guaranteed a good time for you and your family. To don’t follow this code of conduct on Hawaii’n beaches, or to don’t simply show “Aloha” you and your family might be in deep trouble, one that you won’t want during your time here! Stay safe!!!
