Moqui Cave Reviews
We had some time on our drive to St. George and we stopped to check this place out. WOW! It's really a neat place, and worth the stop! It is a very unique use of a natural cave, and it incorporates Ut... more »
What a fun little place! The history alone is worth the stop! The staff that greeted us were amazing! Eccentric! Adorable! Thank you so much! Brandee Davis more »
This is a wonderful private museum run by the grandchildren of a serious geologist/anthropologist/paleontologist of yesteryear who traveled the world and his own backyard collecting some very nice artifacts, rock samples and dinosaur tracks and bones. His goal was to share them with whoever stopped by his cave and his grandchildren have done a nice job keeping his dream alive at a fair price. I read some of the other reviews and saw where some people have made fun of the displays. Don’t let these folks dissuade you. There are some Native American spear tips and knives alone that are very rare and unique that I would have paid the entree fee to see by themselves. It’s not Kartchner Caverns, but it is a really cool cave that displays an absolutely fantastic little piece of Americana in the southwest.
Website says they're open today from 10 am until 5 pm. Since we weren't going to be back from Bryce Canyon National Park by 5, we waited until the museum opened to start our day. Got there at 10:15am, there was only a "CLOSED No Trespassing" sign and locked gates. No sign with their hours, nothing. There were quite a few people who showed up, as well, only to be disappointed. We thought they were open when we passed yesterday because of all the cars, I believe it was because they were being disappointed like we were today. Update your website, please. Our whole morning was wasted due to the website being wrong. Update: passed again and they were open, and it was an interesting experience. The cave and family history are pretty cool, and the relics (dinosaur bones, footprints, Native American pottery, etc.) are cool to look at.
