A replica of a 950-year-old Buddhist temple, Byodo-In Temple welcomes visitors from all faiths. The temple serves as a place for worship and meditation. Discover a 3 m (9 ft) statue of Lotus Buddha inside, painted in gold and coated with gold leaf. Visit the Japanese gardens with peacocks, black swans, turtles, and frogs. Pay attention to the three-ton brass bell near the entrance, which is said to purify the mind and bring positive things to those who ring it. • Very cool temple to visit in the North side of Oahu here. The atmosphere is beautiful and the architecture of this temple is unreal. Definitely worth checking out if you're in this side of the island.

  • Stunning place! Despite the tourists, the area is calm and reflective. Great place to check out that is different from the a "roadside tourist trap." There's a beautiful carved Buddha statue, love...

  • While I only rated it 4 stars, I find it a great attraction to experience. I've been several times. Sometimes the lady working is a little grumpy, but when she's in a good mood she is so great. A wealth of knowledge. Personal opinion they need more direct signage in some spots to prevent line cutters and such. Don't forget to visit the pond after and admire the beautiful black swan. The shop closes earlier before the temple does. You can get bird and fish feed there. Overall it's a beautiful place.
  • This is beautiful, peaceful place, good parking, market across to have some food, there is $5 ticket per person. The gong sounds are calming. Fish ponds are filled with beautiful fishes. There is a cat family, very friendly and nice to pet. Small shop and clean bathrooms. Beautiful place to take pics and walk around if you are in the area.
