Embrace your family's creative side at Kaleidoscope, an arts and crafts center for kids. Operated by Hallmark Cards as a way to recycle its paper, ribbon, crayons, and other products, the venue is packed with leftover manufacturing materials from their famous cards. Use the supplies to create collages, puzzles, mobiles, and various other artistic works. The center provides glue, pens, glitter, and much more, so all you need to bring is your ideas. This crafty fun takes place in organized sessions, so make sure to check for times beforehand. Admission is free.  Choose to start, finish, or center your holiday on a trip to Kaleidoscope by using our Kansas City road trip planning website.

  • The ladies at the Hallmark center recommended this place. I took my 3 year old here and we had a blast! You get to go in this creatively decorated place and use the provided crafts and materials to build whatever you like! My son especially loved the black light room where everything glowed. When I come back to KC I will be visiting again! Oh, did I mention it's all free?!
  • I am a 42 year old man that took field trips here in elementary school. The impact that this place had on my childhood, and overall development, has been lasting. Some of the exhibits are burned into my memory. The feeling of walking through the facility with my classmates single file, and ending up eventually in the crafts room to close out the day, was unmatched as a child. I am sad to see this place is temporarily closed....I hope it is very temporary.
