Caddo Lake State Park is a state park located in the piney woods ecoregion of eastern Texas and operated as a wildlife management area (WMA), Caddo Lake is the lake that the state park encompasses, and is one of only a handful of natural lakes in Texas. The park consists of 8,253 acres (3,340 ha) west of the lake itself, in Harrison County, near Karnack, Texas. The lake and surrounding area was drilled for petroleum in the 1900s. The lake was created by a gigantic log jam known as the Great Raft.

  • Absolutely worth the drive! I’ve been seeing photos of this Texas treasure for a while, and we finally planned an anniversary adventure! Don’t miss a stay in one of the CCC cabins in the park. And...

  • We had a great weekend here under the tall pines. Even through the sleet and cold, we managed to hike and rent canoes. The front staff is very kind, knowledgeable and welcoming. We enjoyed ourselves so much, we want to go back when it’s warmer. Additionally, we stayed in spot 42. It was the first level spot we have stayed in with our RV. Such a roomy campsite! Thank you so much for the great time!
  • Beautiful State Park with wonderful views. There are elevated docks over the water with great views of the Bayou. The hiking trails were very nice and the trails were clear of fallen trees and kept natural. The steps up the hills were nicely spaced and not steep. Plenty of bridges that cross the small winding creek. The staff at the park are friendly and helpful.
