The Keauhou Farmers Market is sponsored by the Kona County Farm Bureau. The Kona County Farm Bureau is a non-profit organization representing the agricultural community of North and South Kona districts. Its membership is dedicated to improving the quality of life on farms, ranches, and their rural communities.

The Kona chapter is a member of the Hawaii Farm Bureau Federation, which represents agricultural interests statewide. The Hawaii Farm Bureau is also a member of the American Farm Bureau Federation, representing 5.6 million famres and ranchers at the national and international level.

As a not-for-profit, the Kona County Farm Bureau began the Keauhou Farmers Market in order to provide our farmers with an outlet from which to directly market their products. From the larger perspective, a true "Farmers Market" serves as a powerful educational tool for expanding community awareness and building upon the general public's preference for agricultural products grown and freshly harvested on the Island of Hawai'i.

As the Keauhou Farmers Market begins the sixth year in operation, it continues to prosper within what is a transformative moment in the history of food that is grabbing hold all across the country, reflected by both today's consumers as well as farmers.

By committing to the growth of more community-oriented food systems we can serve to advance Island prosperity in the following ways:

*preserves the landscape of Hawai'i

*creates jobs

*provides fresh, healthy, and affordable ways to eat

*reduces our energy needs and our carbon footprint

*builds local resilience, self-reliance, and economic security

*keeps money in the community for future investment

*builds community pride

  • Nice produce and craft market currently only Sat mornings in the shopping center parking lot. We particular enjoyed the baked dessert treats. Because we got there late, we did miss out on several sold out items. Guess we needed to be earlier birds…
  • This farmers marker opens every Saturday. Many local farmers bring their products with good condition and reasonable price. Famers market is one of good places you may want to visit for your visiting in Hawaii because you could experience their lives and also gain good products with good price. This market is one of them. There will be enough parking spots, and the size of the market is not that big. Probably you will stay for about one hour to visit each store on the market.
