The historical location of a major Civil War event, Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park preserves the site of a battle fought between the Union and Confederate armies on June 18, 1864. Over 5,300 soldiers died during this battle, won against all odds by the vastly outnumbered Confederate forces. Designated as one of the country's historical districts in 1966, the park contains three major battlefield areas and a visitor center, where you’ll find a museum, theater, and information desk. Stop by the theater to watch short films about the battle, or walk some of the 27 km (17 mi) of interpretative hiking trails, which are lined with earthworks, cannon emplacements, and monuments dedicated to the soldiers who fought here. With our international travel planner, Kennesaw attractions like Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park can be center stage of your vacation plans, and you can find out about other attractions like it, unlike it, near it, and miles away.

First time here. The trails were awesome. Such a good place for walking/hiking. Great exercise and beautiful nature scenery. I thoroughly enjoyed my 3.5 mile walk. So many different trails to try. I'll be back to try other trails.

Great mountain, with views at every turn. Either walk through the forest or hike to the top of the mountain roughly 1000ft elevation and 1.5mile road up and enjoy the view of Atlanta. Bathrooms are available at the welcome center.
