Snorkel Alaska, Ketchikan

Fantastic Experience. I was a little nervous about the trip and experience, but I had no reason to be. They provided a 7 mm wetsuit with hood, and helped those who needed help. We had a nice place to change. The transfer was not that long. The staff was patient, sensitive, knowledgeable, and experienced. The 46 degree water was two degrees warmer than the air temperature of 44 degrees. Surprisingly, it was not that bad as long as we were moving. When I started getting out of breath trying to surface dive, I had no problems giving staff my weight belt since they had lifeguard rescue tubes. The snorkel time was appropriate, and they showed us things. I was most impressed by the treat of hot water for our wetsuits when we got back to the van. After returning back to the store, we got a hot shower (outside) and hot chocolate. If I am ever in the neighborhood, I would love to do it again. When we got back to the cruise ship, we learned that the other passengers had been hailed on. I much rather be in the water during rain and hail.

Fred and Kurt were absolutely amazing. They were fun and knowledgeable about the equipment, techniques, and local aquatic environment. The experience of snorkeling in 58f water is once in a lifetime for most. The wet suits are 7mm and keep you more than warm enough. I dare say I was warmer in the water than my family was on land. If you are going to Ketchikan and want a unique experience. Look these guys up.
