Island Dolphin Care is a wonderful place that does a lot for the dolphins, the community, and children/adults with disabilities. The programs they offer are quite impressive and therapeutic for children. The only reason I give my 4 star rating is due to the amount of money we paid for what we got out of it. My family and I visited here and took the tour. I paid for 4 people in total and felt like the money doesn’t account for the experience. The staff is friendly and they do a great job working with children and going into detail about the sea creature in their touch tanks. They explain their programs and what they do for their sessions as well as caring for the dolphins. It may have been my misunderstanding by the website kind of makes it seem like if you take a tour you would at least get to pet the dolphins. This is simply not the case. So from start to finish we walk in, talk about some creatures, see the dolphins swimming around, pay, leave. To me it’s not worth the money for a tour and I kind of felt cheated. I don’t want to discredit them as they were friendly and quite knowledgeable and took their time to explain things to our child. We just felt like it could have been a bit more.
Island Dolphin Care: the best word to describe it is "Magical". A visit to the facility is healing from within as a stand alone. For therapy, well miracles happen. I recommend it for all of us humans as a reminder of mother natures great gifts. A truly passionate and caring group
