The Key West Firehouse Museum located on the corner of Grinnell and Virginia St. is home to many displays pertaining to the history of firefighting in the Florida Keys. Highlights include a 1929 American LaFrance Fire Truck, one of the only indoor coal pits known to exist in the United States, an operational fire alarm system with neighborhood boxes and ticker tape machine dated back to the early 1900's, and a piece of steel from the North Tower of the World Trade Center presented to the museum on the 10th anniversary of that tragic event by members of the FDNY.Plan to visit Key West Firehouse Museum and other customer-reviewed, writer-recommended Key West attractions using our Key West online trip itinerary planner.

Great museum with tons of history. The gentleman giving the tour worked at the house when it was active. Their knowledge, memories, and banter made the perfect tour experience. Don't forget to smell the Key Lime leaves when you're there!
Mixed feelings on this one...one gentleman was very nice and would tell us the kids could play or touch something then another guy would yell at them to stop. This happened multiple times. I would not recommend this place if you have kids. Which is so sad since my 4 yo loves everything fireman.
