The Key West Firehouse Museum located on the corner of Grinnell and Virginia St. is home to many displays pertaining to the history of firefighting in the Florida Keys. Highlights include a 1929 American LaFrance Fire Truck, one of the only indoor coal pits known to exist in the United States, an operational fire alarm system with neighborhood boxes and ticker tape machine dated back to the early 1900's, and a piece of steel from the North Tower of the World Trade Center presented to the museum on the 10th anniversary of that tragic event by members of the FDNY.

  • A wonderful way to spend time in Key West. The gentlemen there were full of knowledge and stories which added so much to our visit. It is interesting to see the evolution of fire fighting. Nice...

  • Great place for some Key West history; check on open hours before you visit; staffed by Retired Firefighters with lots great infomation and stories about Key West Firehouse #3
  • This museum was a great stop while in Key West. That is run by firefighters, retired and volunteer alike, this place has a ton of history and is amazing to walk through. It is an old fire station from the steam engine and horse days. The top is still set up like a bunk rokm. Very neat and cheap stop. Lots to see here.
