  • A nice way to see the main areas of the keys. Especiially interesting as the road connects the keys.

  • We had an interesting day. We left the Everglades NP and our GPS indicated the trip would take about 3.5 hrs. Then during the next 45 minutes the time fluctuated all the way up to 21 hours...

  • The drive is very scenic from Key Largo to Key West and back. Single lane highway with some spots for passing. Many bridges and the passengers can spot dolphins if lucky. Bear in mind - strictly follow the speed limits and do not exceed it by even 2 mph. Stop at the Sundowners for good food at Key Largo. We traveled during the holidays and we lucky not to hit any traffic.
  • “Scenic road drive... Be ready to stop over at various places” This is mostly one lane road, driving from Miami to key west. Out of 160 miles, 50-60 miles is within Miami city where the limit is max 45. You ll get to see everglades national park beside it. After that it is one lane road, sea is both sides. There are various places where you can pull over your car. I stopped at (Key Largo, Islamorada, Marathon, Big Pine key) Enroute to kw, there is 7 miles bridge too. It feels good, driving on it. Blue-green sea both side, no sight of land. Beside it, there is also an old bridge but that’s is closed now.
