Keystone Historical Museum Reviews

This is a small town museum, lots of pictures, newspaper articles, clothing, artifacts. Interesting and worth a visit if you are interested in the history of Keystone. I never read much about the Wild... more »
I was in Keystone for Mt. Rushmore and didn’t know about this museum until I saw the signs in town about their Carrie Ingalls exhibit. I’m a huge “Little House” fan, so that drew me in. Their Ingalls corner is wonderful and features not only items from Carrie but also her family members. (Its a great complement to visiting the Ingalls homes in De Smet!) The rest of the museum is very nice, with lots of interesting photos and items. The museum volunteers were very friendly and knowledgeable. Worth a visit!
A black and white pictorial paradise of Keystone history. Take the time to look at the photos it's worth it. Large crisp clear photos denoting early 1900's of early Keystone. This was a mining town and should not be missed on your visit. Artifacts, vintage clothing, military, an oversize clawfoot bathtub from a former President...And you get to ring the schoolhouse bell that will be heard all over town, a kid favorite!
