Alpacas of the Southwest is a full operating ranch. We began in in 2002 with a year of research and began purchasing Alpacas in 2003.

We have had 25 Crias on our ranch and have Alpacas with blood lines from Peru, Bolivia and Chile. We shopped the U.S. for them and made purchases in 5 states. We have attended numerous seminars on Alpacas and their fiber, as well as the processing of fiber.

We have a store as well, all of our products are made out of alpaca fleece. We have socks, sweaters, scarfs, hats, gloves, etc.

  • Great place to stop heading down the Interstate. It is more educational than actually petting the alpacas, so I personally wouldn't recommend children, but you do get to see them up close and feed them a couple of times. Really liked the two owners of the enclosure, being so rural it gave off more of a one-on-one, quieter vibe away from usual zoo crowds and distractions.
  • Our tour leader was great! I've seen Alpacas before, but this was better! Educational and fun! Learned about the animals, and the fiber! Got to feed several. It was wonderful!
