#1 of 11 in Things to do in Klamath
Glide among the tops of giant redwood trees in an enclosed gondola at Trees of Mystery. Giant wooden statues of Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox, among the sculptures and carvings illustrating the adventures of this famous logger and his crew, will greet you. Put on your hiking shoes and explore the more physically demanding wilderness trail. After seeing trees shaped like an elephant, a candelabrum, and a cathedral, rest under painted ceilings of the forest cafe. Finish your journey at the museum, which features a large collection of Native American arts and crafts, including basketry, beadwork, shell work, and a modern stone carving. • We visited Trees of Mystery on our way to Gold Beach. It’s $18 for adults to tour the beautiful forest and Redwoods and ride above the canopy on a short Gondola trip. Takes about an hour to get around...  more »

  • I wanted very much to like this place. It is a fun walk through, I ignored all the “tourist trap” warning reviews and we went. I regret it. First thing you NEED to know is that the “sky ride” lasts about 5-7 minutes and it does NOT go through old growth redwood trees. It goes up a small hill through second growth trees planted in the fifties. The last few miles of hwy 199- hwy 101 were infinately more beautiful and incredible than this place was. Also the stout grove is only a short drive away and it is incredible, and FREE! Much better place to spend your time in the Redwoods. Everyone also raves about the gift shop, it’s crazy expensive in there! They’re homemade fudge is $16 a lb! Yikes! Anyways there’s so many other places to explore the redwoods that are much better and free. And I’m not being cheap(even though $18 a head to get in was not at all worth it.) we didn’t mind paying, I’m just genuinely telling you you’re time will be better spent at a place such as the Stout Grove.
  • We took a family vacation from Idaho to the Redwoods. They have a giant Paul Bunyan statue, and a huge gift shop and museum. Fudge samples, restrooms. The walk is easy even for little kids. Admission includes the sky trail. There's neat carvings and signs with explanations. We enjoyed ourselves.
