Rusty Spurr Ranch Reviews
We were super happy we waited until later in the year to do. It was great! The two hours was perfect for our family. more »

Great experience. The whole staff was friendly and informative, and the owner was an active participant. I was worried that we would be driving cattle just because, but the reason is to keep them eating in the right areas (best grass/ keep them from overgrazing). Me and several of my brothers went on the cattle drive with about seven or eight other people. First they split us into two groups with the owner taking one group and Carrie (the other guide) took us. We rounded up all the cattle from little groups and took them to water. Then, we joined with the other group and drove the cattle to the location that Han (the owner) chose. There was opportunity for chasing cows that got out of the herd, and they encouraged us to spread out and not just let the horses follow each other (my parents did one of the trail rides and they also encouraged them to spread out when there was opportunity to do so). We were also allowed to trot the horses occasionally when driving the cattle which made it even better. Both Han and Carrie were very personable and talked to make the ride more interesting. All of the employees seemed very friendly and happy with their employment. They do an incredible job taking care of the horses, and Han works very hard instead of letting everyone else do the hardest work. If you want to ride horses, come here!
Unbelievable! Not the the average trail ride. You are in control of your horse! We rode out into the hills and in the aspen forest and saw amazing views. Our group wished we had stayed all day! Spotted a bear! Couldn't say enough about how sweet and knowledgeable our guides were! Best 2 hours we spent in Colorado! Did the Paddle and Saddle trip. The paddle trip was a quick 1.5 hour ride down fairly smooth water. Very safe for the little ones in our group (8,9,9,10,11 years old). Maybe a bit on the low key side for adults expecting bigger rapids. Overall, worth every penny!!!!
