  • We look for art museums wherever we travel, and I didn't read much about the Haan Museum before we arrived. What a surprise to learn the fascinating history of the house, furnishings, and art...

  • It was an amazing experience! Loved the paintings, especially the Kaesers and the furniture. However, the best part of it all were the volunteers! Every little detail and explanation was told with so much passion that they really bring the house to life! Whether you're just visiting or you're a local who hasn't yet visited The Haan, it is a must-see. Highly recommended!
  • This beautiful mansion was initially built as the Connecticut building for the 1904 St. Louis World's Fair. Following the fair, The house was auctioned off, taken apart and shipped to Lafayette by rail where it was reconstructed.. an addition to the house was made on the back for a kitchen and breakfast area. Later rooms were added on the second floor above that addition. The Haans purchased the house after the Potter family members in Lafayette had passed away. They made it their personal home and later turned it into a museum sharing their wonderful collection of Indiana artists as well as pottery and sculpture. There's a wonderful sculpture garden behind which is open at all times for no charge.
