Our kids loved this hike and had plenty of opportunities to climb rocks. There are some areas that require steady feet and/or good knees, so don't go alone if you aren't fit. You can't make it all...

Closed Canyon is a short walk with a few spots where it is necessary to climb just a bit. It’s beautiful and not very long.

Slot canyons aren't just in Arizona. Texas has one too! This was a fun adventure. We weren't able to make it all the way to the Rio Grande. Eventually we hit water. Bonus that it's cooler in the canyon. The hike into the canyon gets more challenging as you go. Scrambling rocks and sliding down smooth sections got us farther. My little ones thought it was really fun. The initial walk is full of gravel but not too many obstacles. You'll start to hit some drops that become more and more challenging.
