  • We decided on a paid your instead of the self guided tour and I am so glad we did. Jim Roger's was our guide and let me tell you, he was an awesome tour guide! He was filled with first hand knowledge on bringing the 1980 Olympics to Lake Placid and shared insider information along with facts and tidbits about the building, athletes...everything one would ever want to know. Spend the extra $2 and take the guided tour. You won't be sorry!
  • It is pretty cool to have the opportunity to walk down and see the ice where the game in '80 was played. When I went, the rink was open and I was able to walk anywhere in the arena. The benches were even open and I walked in there. Really cool! There's not much else to the place other than the rink though. Besides a small gift shop (there were better ones on the main street) and some olympic facts on the wall, the rink is about it.
