In March of 2014, a small group of Colt Creek State Park enthusiasts decided to start a friends group to support the park. The Friends of Colt Creek State Park, Inc. (FCCSP) is a charitable organization that was incorporated as a citizen's support organization. We invite you to come out and enjoy the 5,000 acre park in the heart of the Green Swamp. With the state's investment in purchasing the land and managing it as a state park, we protect our resources, provide habitat for wildlife, and offer recreational opportunities for Floridians and tourists. The park has miles of trails for hiking, horseback riding, and biking. There are several small lakes for fishing, kayaking and canoeing. There are primitive campsites and equestrian camping and a campground is in the planning and development stage.Make Colt Creek State Park part of your personalized Lakeland itinerary using our Lakeland day trip site.
We welcome you to join FCCSP and volunteer when time allows with our group or to assist at the park working with staff on a regular basis.

The park has very good facilities, well maintained, keep RV;s separate from tents. We have had a lot of rain, leaving trails in the mud. Lots of wildlife, birds, and bring the bug spray. more »

Enjoyed checking out this new park. Great for walking and maybe one day camping. Rode thru one of the campgrounds but didn't explore the whole park. It seems to be really spread out. more »

Family camping area perfect for RV, trailer or tent camping. Power & water at each site & RV dump site. We tent camped. Site had large parking area, loose gravel drive & good drainage. On site restrooms clean, serviceable and showers. Also laundry. Look forward to coming back.

Nice park. Very clean. Large RV sites. We stayed in site #24- enough room for our 5th wheel, tow vehicle and extra car. Quiet park.
