  • Nestled right in the backyard (literally, for some people who live next to it!!) of the Largo area is this super cool nature reserve! It's not a huge expense, but it definitely IS a great little habitat nature reserve & walk. It's completely free to visit, but donations are strongly encouraged & I certainly recommend whatever you can to donate is fair, but even if not, there's no cost. They feature a really cool turtle pond right by the entrance, stocked with a TON of turtles that you can feed. You can purchase their feed from the front desk for a very small fee, I believe it's 50 cents a cup. More than enough for the kids to enjoy feeding the turtles with. They also have a really nice bird sanctuary with owls, and even a bald eagle. Indoors are a pair of kestrels, snakes & other assorted nature exhibits. The rangers & volunteers are always happy & willing to explain anything about any display or exhibit. Parking is a bit sparse, but that's about the only takeaway. McGough is definitely worth the visit, especially for little ones!
  • This a wonderful relaxing walk to the Intracoastal waterway with beautiful views. Turtle feeding with lots of birds to view and learn about outside with more birds, snakes and reptiles on the inside. Plus a neat gift shop. Good place to take children. Free and donations are greatly appreciated -- definitely worth supporting.
