We spent about 2 hours here and it was well worth the time. It is very well set up and maintained. I would consider this a gem in Las Cruces.

Wow, what an unexpected gem of a museum! The exhibits are extremely well done, informative, beautifully maintained and really interesting. A few these stand out in particular: the history of ranchers who lost their land to the military, the history of Billy the Kid, and the various farm vehicles. Getting to see and learn about farm animals was also great. My eight year old got a little bored in the museum because I took too long reading the information panels, but he perked up when we went outside and saw all the farm animals. I really have no idea what funding this museum relies on because it doesn't seem like it should be able to stay open. The facilities are big, modern and well kept. The exhibits are excellent and on par or better than many much bigger museums I've visited. Yet the price is only five dollars for adults, three for kids. I highly recommend visiting and spending a couple of hours here.

The biggest of the museums in Las Cruces. Definitely go with enough time. The little gift shop is very nice. Kids 3 and under go in free. From 4-17 entrance fee is $3. And 18 and older pay $5.
