Over three decades in the making, the Comanche National Museum and Cultural Center (CNMCC) offers fascinating insight into the largest American Indian tribe in the Lawton-Fort Sill area. CNMCC is more than just a traditional museum. It is an experience that brings to life the "Nʉmʉnʉʉ," both past and present.

In 2001, the Comanche Nation received a National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) Grant for the planning of a tribal museum. Discussion for a museum had begun 20 years prior; however, nothing materialized at that time. With NEA funding, the Nation held a series of meetings with several tribal museums with the aim of developing a cultural center/museum for the Comanche people. Five years later, in September 2007, CNMCC officially opened its doors. CNMCC is funded by the tribe’s Gaming Contribution Fund, which does not include federal funding.

  • This museum is not large but it is well done. The exhibits were informative and helped us understand the Comanche culture. We highly recommend. Bonus: it is free and they do welcome donations.

  • Decent experience here. They do not much to show . But what they have is a very important part of history. Free to go in , donations excepted. They have a gift shot here . Here they temperature check you . Ask for covid vaccine card . Mask is required here Please be respectful to all here .
  • Update: They are setting up new exhibits. Old New: They had a lovely exhibit about Comanche peoples. it taught a lot about the life of the Comanche peoples, and the duties of: the family members, and tribe members... from history. They had complete wheelchair access: parking, restrooms, Museum, and Gift Shop. The only small issue was they didn't have the automatic doors to make bring someone in a wheelchair in easier. It was clean, educational, and it had AC. parking and entry are FREE.
