  • My wife and I were informed about Lake Le-Aqua-Na State Park while visiting historic Galena for a three-day weekend in August. So on the way home to Chicago on Route 20, we took a slight detour north....  more »
  • This state park is a very quiet place. The road through it is a little over a mile, and it's easily walked in a couple hours (though it is uphill and downhill a lot). There are lots of benches and.....  more »
  • We have been going to this park for years. I am both sad and excited for the closure next year. Can't wait to see the improvements but sad we won't be able to camp here. There are several decent hiking trails nothing too strenuous. It is a very enjoyable time when we are here. I do recommend coming here.
  • Hiking trails are not marked. Very easy to get lost. Roads are bad but heard fixing next year. Needs a lot of upkeep or would be great. Drive over to Apple river canyon State Park instead. Much nicer.
