It used to be called Lee Chapel until they changed the name to University Chapel because of political correctness.... for those who enjoy history and the Civil War.. this is the place to go? They don't bother to mention that the entire Lee family is buried in a crypt underneath the chapel.... they moved the Museum and Gift Shop because of Renovations but Lee's College office is still exactly the way he left it the day that he died.... and right outside the door of the crypt is the grave of Robert E Lee's famous horse Traveller, throw a few sugar cubes and a Apple for the good old boy... visit and enjoy.

Very historical chapel formerly known as the Lee Memorial Chapel, it is where he and his family are interred, and was partly constructed by Lee as a place to gather (instead of explicitly a church/chapel). There is a statue/monument to him constructed after he passed. There are some docents to help you out, but it otherwise is self-guided. Definitely worth a stop for Southerns, Americans, and history-fans all the same. Cheers.
