Founded in 2012, we’re a craft microbrewery located in a historic 100-year-old bakery called The Bread Box on West 6th Street in Lexington, Kentucky. We brew and can our beer out of that location, and it’s sold at bars, restaurants, grocery stores, and liquor stores throughout the state of Kentucky (and across the river in Cincinnati, OH). We pride ourselves on the beers that we make and the impact we have on the communities we’re a part of.Put West Sixth Brewing into our Lexington travel route planning tool to see other points of interest to visit during your vacation in Lexington.
We focus our brewing talents on a wide variety of beers – we produce and can styles ranging from our flagship West Sixth IPA, to our Pay it Forward Cocoa Porter. In our taprooms in downtown Lexington, we have 15-20 West Sixth varieties on tap, along with occasional special bottle releases from our Sixfold and Barrel-aged series. Now a team of more than 40, we focus on brewing beers with quality and creativity that we’re proud to serve to our friends, and most importantly, that we like to drink!
That said, we measure our success as a company not just on the beer that we make, but also on our social impact in the communities we’re a part of. We support the direct work of nonprofits in our area through programs like our Pay it Forward program and 6th for a Cause. We are environmentally conscious in everything we do (did you know nationwide, 70% of aluminum is recycled and only 20% of glass is?). And finally, we strive to be an awesome place to work, offering discounted CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) benefits, private staff yoga classes, and employee ownership.

We enjoyed the beer, the friendly staff, and the overall vibe of the area. Smithtown Seafood"s outrageously delicious food didn't hurt, either. more »

We recently rented out the Barrel Room for a private event and it was amazing! The staff answered every email in a timely manner, they accommodated all of our wishes and requests, and managed to impress my corporate office as well! If you need to rent a space out for anything, I highly suggest doing it here.
What a great place to eat, drink, enjoy yourself. We stopped in on our way back from NC during our one night hotel stay. Did a quick google search and found this gem. The food is provided by the attached fish place, SMITHTOWN seafood. We enjoyed a flight of some great beer. Getting the Cocoa Porter and West Sixth IPA for some home drinking.
