  • The Nature Center is the centerpiece for this park on the outskirts of Lincoln. The park is known for its hiking trails, golf course, statuary and views of the Nebraska State Capitol building. During the early fall you can frequently see cross country events and the Pinewood Bowl Amphitheater is a great place to take in a concert right there in the park. Pioneer Park is a unique park for anyone! The Pioneer Park Nature Center is a very interactive experience for all ages. Highly recommend exploring the park and go into the Nature Center
  • This place is HUGE with a golf course and lots of very scenic walking trails. There's lots of prairie and a few wooded areas. The highlight of Pioneers Park (and the thing that makes it unique from other parks) is the variety of animals that can be seen up close here. There are a couple of elk, many geese, bison, turkeys, hawks, and owls. Best of all, admission is free. This is a great attraction for couples as well as families and children.
