Step back into the 19th-century for a day of heritage and fun at the Washburn-Norlands Living History Center, Maine’s oldest living history farm and museum – an oasis from modern times!

For an enchanted experience and to get inspired about life in 19th-century Maine and Livermore’s celebrated Washburn Family – visit the Norlands – where history comes to life! All programs are presented by costumed interpreters who use third and first person interpretation techniques to portray real people who lived in the Norlands’ neighborhood in the 1800s.

    We came here for a quick impromptu visit before a family burial nearby in the Norlands Cemetery. Sheri gave us a great personal tour and it was wonderful to see the oxen, sheep, pigs and chickens as....  more »

    spent most of the day there lots of re-enactors for the event . looking forward to the up coming events . the school house was very interesting.  more »

    A true step back in time, with links to Wisconsin and Minnesota. Still under restoration in different parts but open to the public. The history of those who lived there was very interesting and quite unique. Of those of you who are interested in the past and how it created the present do not hesitate to visit.
