What a gem! Fantastic views are just the start of the adventure that awaits. The wonderfully converted horse barn is transformed into a warm tasting room, with plenty of stock (and you will want to stock up). Great music is played throughout, and compliments the creative vibe. Getting to the mead. Mike can suggest a flight, or you can choose your own. Mike recommended a mix of meads for me that was an artistic journey through the senses. I am new to mead, and was not aware of the dynamic tastes and complexity. Each mead has a top note that washes across like an ocean wave. Then, you become aware of a complex different, but related, flavors. Kind of like currents under a wave. I had no idea! No Need To Argue demands your attention, in case your mind was wandering. The first sip, says, “Wake Up!” and then crashes into cranberry flavors that I never knew existed. Bourbon Barrel Aged Kurt’s Apple Pie makes you smile at the first sip. As the warm flavor profile washes through, the perfectly balanced cinnamon notes take the front stage. Smolder features tart raspberry up front, that gives way to smoky chipotle. Perfect for a cool night in front of a fire. Mike and Bernice are warm and generous hosts. I recommend Over The Moon Farmstead and will definitely visit again.
