  • Very nice for a state park that close to the city. Bit toasty.. I'm not sure about the reservation only approach at this State Park. And, really, why does the State of Colorado need eye and hair color for a camping reservation? Cause they also sell fishing licenses and such, but u wasn't fishing. However, the lady who took the reservation on the phone (Theresa) was very nice.
  • Highway noise. If you don't like it, don't stay here. That said, we really enjoyed it here and we don't like highway noise. If it weren't for the noise this would have been a raving review. As it is, it's "just 5 stars". The thing is, the lakes, the fishing, campsites, everything else is just perfect. Can wander for hours and not cover the whole park. General biking is good here too. And it's away from city through-traffic so even the road out is pretty quiet. We stayed here twice because we liked it so much. Definitely will stay again if we're on our way through. Now, if it weren't near the interstate? It would be a total destination location.
