  • I'm comparing Aiguille to Climbing Walls in the UK that I'm more familiar with, which may or may not be fair... (The Works and The Foundry in Sheffield, the Leeds Wall, The Harrogate Climbing Center, The Castle Climbing Center in London) Aiguille is a solid 4 stars even in that Company. The Good: Staff were friendly, accommodating and careful to follow the manufacturers instructions for the gear (I figured you guys never get a shout out for that but it's deserved). I've climbed there with a buddy, with my Wife and with a large group of mostly kids and have never experienced any rudeness at all from the Staff, the opposite in fact, regardless of how loud we got shouting encouragement at the newbies. The Not so Good: Other comments about torn up crash mats are right, they need some attention. I found the grades a little inconsistent, sent 5.11 on sight on one route and couldn't get off the ground on another one. (The place could be cleaner but that seems unfair so that didn't affect my grade much... personally I love the smell of chalk and feet, smells like my happy place....) If you're new to Climbing this will be a great intro! If you're a veteran of the real gritty stuff, there's plenty that will test you here too. Take care to leave any pretentiousness at the door and just enjoy the company of everyone who loves the sport as much as you do. Highly recommend this place.
  • If you're looking for an amazing outdoor experience you can have indoor, then go here. The staff is super helpful & supportive, especially if you're new to rock climbing. It's a whole community out there, and everyone is ready to lend a helping hand. I went on a group team building event, which was awesome. But going individually or with friends or on a date would be perfect too.
