  • Tsankawi is actually a portion of Bandelier National Monument; it is easy to miss and accessible from a gravel parking area just off State Road 4. Don't expect any signs - there is one, but it is a.....  more »
  • Such a cool place to visit - you get to see Pueblo ruins and even enter some restored caveats via ladder. The main loop trail is very doable for kids, the Alcove House is also cool to see but quite a climb. Bandelier has several other trails.
  • I went to Bandelier in the afternoon in mid July. It was Hot. I wasnt able to go to the very end. The walk back to the visitor center was shaded and pleasant. Saw a deer walking around. One family saw a rat snake. The ranger said "you leave them alone, they'll leave you alone." The cliff dwellings were really impressive. I recommend going in the morning, or go a different month.
