About two or three exhibits were closed due to renovations, but other than that, i enjoyed learning about California's western history. It's not that big of a museum but still informative. It's only $7 & children from 0-12, I believe, are free. They have a little outdoor space with "rocking horses" kids will enjoy. Their griffin park exhibit is kid friendly. There's an area in that exhibit with a little play house & books for kids to enjoy. So it's a nice little hidden gem within griffin park.

Fascinating exhibits. The Colt collection was particularly impressive. The museum presents an unvarnished view of the American west and doesn't stick to the traditional whitewashed history, but presents the visitor with facts that paint a more nuanced and accurate picture of the development of the old west.
