Over 100 vendors sell a wide variety of cuisines from around the world at LA Farmers' Market. What's now an outdoor market started as a place for a few local farmers to sell their produce from their trucks during the Depression. The farmers' market quickly transformed into the massive permanent outdoor market that still stands in the same place. While there are no longer any actual farmers selling produce, the market has retained the original feel by prohibiting big chains, and keeping vendors local. The Original Farmers Market is a fabulous spot to spend an afternoon! Whether you are looking for a fun shopping experience, a delicious meal or happy hour drinks. There is such a great variety of vendors and shops that everyone can find something they like. On my first trip I purchased gourmet popcorn, amazing baked goods, beef jerky, bakery dog treats, and books. I stopped for a couple great draft beers and had cocktails and fish and chips. The experience was fantastic and I cannot wait to go back and explore the shops and vendors that I missed. The Original Farmers Market great fun for the whole family!

One of my favorite places in LA. So many awesome shopping and food choices. One of the last remaining examples of LA history. I was so sad when they constructed the Grove but was so happy they left some of the original buildings. So much history and such a great place to hang and get snacks, shop and people watch. I love the history of LA and so glad it's still with us.
