Universal Studios Hollywood, Los Angeles

4.4
For an ultimate Hollywood experience, visit Universal Studios Hollywood, a film studio, theme park, and a self-contained city all its own. One of the oldest Hollywood studios still in use, this show business complex considers itself "the entertainment capital of Los Angeles." Originally created to offer tours of real film studios, sets, and sound stages, the complex now offers live shows, thrill rides, and behind-the-scenes presentations about the movie-making process. To see the highlights, take a tram tour of the sound stages and sets designed specifically for some of the studio's biggest blockbusters. You can also choose from indoor and outdoor roller-coaster rides that provide you the chance to face King Kong, a shark attack, dinosaurs, and a powerful earthquake. • The studios are a not to be missed. The entrance fee is very expensive, and what disappoints a bit is that they are at last "small" but the attractions are worth the price! These are things all virtual, don't expect rides or roller coaster, but it's as if there were, why the mega screens and effects are spectacular! Recommended also the tour of studios ... don't tell you anything to leave you the surprise. Only thing ... we were on a Sunday and there was a lot of people; then at the end for standing in line for attractions we lost some time ... If you can go during the week, it's probably quieter and you can see more stuff.

  • We visited Universal a couple of months ago and had a great time with the family and kids. It's definitely family oriented and the kiddos loved the Harry Potter world. We arrived right when the park opened and were able to ride the Harry Potter ride fairly quickly. For parents out there, make sure to utilize the parent swap. This is a lifesaver and makes the experience much more enjoyable for those with infants/toddlers. We had an 6 month old with us. Overall, we had a super fun time and would go back and recommend it if you're looking for something family friendly to do in the LA area.
  • Amazing Park! Better then when I was a child! My kids (10 and 2) loved it. The themes and shows are awesome. The Universal Express passes made a huge difference and we are able to go right up into rides back to back! Love it and will return for the VIP Experience. Sooner, if I can sell my kidney to finance the trip :P
