Venice Canals Walkway, Los Angeles

Escape the city noise and traffic at the Venice Canals Walkway, part of the Venice Canal Historic District. The canals, built by Abbot Kinney in 1905, were intended to resemble the canals of Venice, Italy. They were drained and renovated into scenic walking paths in 1992. Enjoy a relaxing stroll on the paths and quaint bridges, pausing to admire the charming, architecturally diverse homes along the way. The tranquility of this area is notable, especially in comparison to the nearby Venice Beach Boardwalk. • One if the best ever beautiful connection of luxury style houses and the concept of original Venice. For creative persons visiting this place would become an amazing experience with the deep inspirational footprint. And yes, prepare your cameras and eyes to catch all the tiny details which compose the picture of this place. Living museum. Don't all fast there. Let your eyes to get pleasure from viewing all the beauty and fantasy realized in the design of houses and gardens. Bring your children there, it will definitely enrich their life and teach feeling beauty.
  • I'm a native Venetian, although I moved away about 15 years ago. I recently went to visit old friends and took a walk by the "new" Canals. Actually it didn't even look like the same neighborhood. I was quite impressed how nicely the Canals were restored. Nice ambiance. New and renovated homes and the landscaping gives it lots of appeal. Only one thing I noticed typical of Venice was the mucky algae water in certain places. But, hey, that's Venice. It fits. Never thought I'd ever be saying anything good about Venice...but yes, here it is... the Canals are probably the nicest part of Venice! But don't even think of living there unless you have megabucks!
