  • What we like about this refuge is its isolation and the opportunity to find peace and quiet. In the visitor center, there are very comfortable chairs and a sofa in front of a picture window, great on hot or cold days. It's usually a challenge to actually see the elk, but worth it. Lots of birds and bunny rabbits.
  • We did the drive tour, it is my 1st and only drive tour ever done. Seen a lot of ducks. We were late in the evening, my son said it sounded like monkeys in a jungle with all the animal noises we heard. We seen lots of rabbits, and it was a nice additional detour to our ride back home from our main trip. It is worth a detour.
