  • Magical. The elfin preserve is better known, but Los Osos oaks is the greatest. Doesn’t look like much from the road. Once you get inside, you’ll find ancient twisted oaks covered with dripping...

  • Los Osos Oaks is a fun spot to hike and see some really spectacular oak trees. It feels like a different world under the trees there - like Fangorn forest. I appreciate the ferns and Spanish moss that make it feel lush. Star removed because the trails can be confusing and are not very well labeled, so it's easy to get lost.
  • Easy access, free parking and entrance, and an overall nice, bite-sized nature excursion. An hour here is plenty. Natural strolling paths take you by California oaks in ferrous in various stages of life and decay. Watch out for poison oak.
