ARTISAN CHOCOLATES, TRUFFLES and CANDYBy using our Louisville road trip site, you can arrange your visit to Art Eatables and other attractions in Louisville.
Art Eatables, started making small-batch bourbon chocolates in January 2011. When you live in Kentucky and you make chocolates or candy, you have to make bourbon balls. Well, that's a problem. I hate bourbon balls. So I started experimenting with a bottle of bourbon that a friend of mine had given me for Christmas. She told me to make something great with it. No pressure, right? I first started experimenting with flavors and bourbon, more like a cocktail in chocolate verse a traditional bourbon ball. So, the first small-batch bourbon chocolates were born. (AKA Cocktail Chocolates) I started this adventure making Black Cherry bourbon, Honey, Maple and Mint. Once I had a bourbon chocolate I actually enjoyed myself, I went on to explore bourbon as a single ingredient. Then came along our signature Small-batch bourbon truffle. Not a bourbon ball, but a true truffle. I didn't just stick with one bourbon or one kind of chocolate. When we first hit the market in fall 2011 we were the first with flavored bourbon chocolates and the first candy maker to use over 20 bourbons. ( we are up to almost 70 now and always growing).
Before we had opened our store and even after we have, we have inspired a few others to make flavored bourbon candies and small batch bourbon chocolates, but we have made it easy for you to identify the Original Cocktail Chocolate and Small-batch bourbon chocolates out there by the BIT. Our signature Brand Identification Token. If you don't see a BIT, then it is not an authentic Art Eatables, Small-batch bourbon chocolate or Cocktail Chocolate.
