  • Smaller museum in clean, modern digs. The staff are super nice and they are taking the utmost precautions during COVID 19. Modern art. When I went, they had a very good exhibit on southern artists....  more »

  • I absolutely loved KMAC. I wish I could go back! My friends and I were out-of-towners visiting from up north for a conference in the city, and this museum was one of the only places we could find open on a Sunday before flying out. I'm so glad we found it. The ultimate museum aesthetic and feel- so warm and cozy and friendly. All the art was, of course, beautiful and thought-provoking. Even the coffee was absolutely delicious and made on the spot. My friends and I stayed here for a good while just chatting and hanging out in the lobby after viewing the pieces. The employees on the ground floor were highly knowledgeable and so kind and relaxed. They made us feel welcomed and comfortable. You could tell right away that they absolutely were passionate about the arts. On top of all this, admission was free! I still keep my pamphlets and stickers that I got here, and if I ever come back to Louisville I will 100% stop by. I'm sure my friends would say the same.
  • Went to the KMAC triennial today where local artists were on display. This museum doesn't show local artists exclusively, they show work from artists all over the world. However, I really enjoyed this exhibit and my enjoyment was heightened by the fact that all of the amazing artwork was made by artists that are either from Kentucky or currently work/live in Kentucky. We have amazing artists here and they deserve a place at the table as much as anyone else. I've enjoyed all the exhibits at this museum and the atmosphere is very modern, clean, and open.
